I need a larger home for Ferrari Ki Sawari

Pritam Chakraborty has just signed Vidhu Vinod Chopra's Ferrari Ki Sawari. This is the first time he's working with Chopra who is known to be a hard taskmaster. Now Pritam is expected to set aside a large chunk of his time for Ferrari.

Says Pritam, “It's actually because of Raju Hirani whom I've known for ages. He's a friend and his assistant is directing Ferrari Ki Sawari.”

There is good and bad news for buddies and neighbours Pritam Chakraborty and director Anurag Basu. While Anurag is shifting to a place even closer to Pritam, Pritam is soon shiftng out of his current place in Goregaon.

Explains the composer, “My wife thinks we need a bigger place, and I agree. We bought this other place in Goregaon itself quite a while back. But we never got around to doing it up. Now I'm looking for a professional designer who could do our new place up fast. Because we need a bigger place quickly.”

Apparently Pritam's wife and two children are forever cramped in their current residence by Pritam's music sessions.

Says Pritam, “Though I am moving out of my present residence I'd never move out of Goregaon.”

Sweets on the sets on Double Dhamaal

Ajay Devgn's mom sent laddoos to the sets of Double Dhamaal in celebration of the birth of her grandson

While Ajay Devgn prefers to play down the celebrations around the birth of his second child, his folks have no such qualms.

The actor's mom Veena Devgn sent boxes of sweets over to the sets of Indra Kumar's Double Dhamaal on Tuesday. It was her way of announcing the birth of her grandson.

Says a source, "As Ajay's buddy Sanjay Dutt was shooting for Double Dhamaal in Mehboob Studios, she sent across boondi ke laddoos for everyone on the sets. The gesture took the unit by surprise."

The source adds, "Sanjay was one of the first to arrive at the hospital to call on Kajol and Ajay after the baby boy was born. In any case, the rest of the cast of Double Dhamaal as well as director Indra Kumar have an old association with Ajay."

The cast, which includes Kangna Ranaut, Riteish Deshmukh, Aashish Chowdhry, Jaaved Jaafri and Mallika Sherawat, tucked into the laddoos during lunch break.

Devgn's publicist confirms, "Sweets were sent to the Double Dhamaal sets."

Kajol delivered a baby boy on Monday morning at Lilavati Hospital. Nysa, 7, is Ajay and Kads' firstborn.

Mohanlal has no clue why he didn't do Saat Khoon Maaf

Malayalam maverick Mohanlal is back with a film directed by the prolific Priyadarshan, the director's 40th film with the versatile actor!

If all had gone well Mohanlal would have been back in Bollywood for Vishal Bharadwaj's Saat Khoon Maaf where he was to play one of Priyanka Chopra's 7 husbands.

Now the magical Mohanlal is making a comeback to Hindi cinema in Priyadarshan's new thriller to be shoot on a speeding train in London from September. This, emphasize both Mohanlal and Priyadarshan, is not a remake of The Bullet Train.

This would be Mohanlal's first foray into Hindi cinema since the disastrous Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag. As in Varma's Company Mohanlal's role has been modified to suit his personality in accent.

In Priyadarshan's film Mohanlal plays a Malayali cop in Britain. In Company he had played a South India police commissioner. In both cases the characters were altered for Mohanlal's sake.

The straight-talking softspoken Mohanlal shocks you when he says he has no clue why he didn't do Saat Khoon Maaf. “I was on for the role. I had been finalized and signed. I was not even told why my services were not needed. But I'd rather not talk about this.

I'd rather focus on talking about Priyan's film. Would it have been such an exciting thing for me to return to Hindi cinema with Priyan if I had already done another Hindi film recently? I haven't asked Priyan what my role is. He told me he needed me for a cameo.And I agreed.

The language is not really important. I am shooting a terrorist drama Khandahar right now and it's hard to say what the language of the film is. The characters speak in Malayalam, Hindi and English.I think cinema now transcends all linguistic barriers.”

Adds Priyadarshan, “I've done 39 films with Mohanlal so far. For the last eight years we haven't worked together. I was busy doing remakes of Mohanlal films with Akshay Kumar. I thought it was high time that I did something again with the original. Mohanlal didn't even ask me what his role in the film was.That's the level of trust we have.”

I want erotic content to be cut down because Crook isn't a skin flick: Emraan Hashmi

Actor Emraan Hashmi is in an argument with his filmmaker uncle Mahesh Bhatt over some steamy scenes with Shella Allen in his upcoming film 'Crook-It's Good to Be Bad', which releases on Oct 8.

In fact, it is the first time ever that the serial kisser Emraan is wanting erotic content to be cut down from his film.

The actor has been lately been enjoying a lot of success as his first film outside the Bhatt banner, Once Upon a Time In Mumbai (OUATIM) became a massive hit.

Henceforth, Emraan has become very image conscious as OUATIM didn't have much intimate scenes either but the film did very well.

So, Emraan feels that sensuality in Crook is only required till a certain point and not beyond the limit, and that is what the topic of debate is between Bhatt and Hashmi.

However, Bhatt is adamant on retain the scenes as they are. It seems that Emraan has had his cake in the film but now it's becoming difficult for him to digest it!

“The reason I wanted the excessive erotic content to be cut down was because Crook is not a skin flick. It is much more than an entertainer. It touches down the serious issue of racial discrimination with Indians in Australia, in an entertaining way. I do not want Crook to be another Murder or Jism.

Also If you see my recent film OUATIM, it did not have lengthy intimate scenes but the film worked equally well, ” says Emraan.

Mahesh Bhatt however seemed quiet firm on his decision of keeping the scenes in the film.

“Emraan's quest for respectability is totally disconnected from the box office. Today, the audience wants to be gratified and not edited. In Crook, we have a great product, which has the added component of sensuality. I see no reason to cut it down, ” said Bhatt.

Crook- It's good to be bad is a Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt's Vishesh Films production.

The film is based on the issue of Racial Discrimination with the Indians abroad and especially highlighting the recent attacks on Indians in Australia.

Directed by Mohit Suri, 'Crook' stars Emraan Hashmi, debutant Neha Sharma and Arjan Bajwa.

Sonam Kapoor is a sexy player

Sonam Kapoor reinvents her look for Abbas Mustan's Italian Job remake. The flick now has an official title: Players. It goes on floors in November.

It is learnt that the actress will be seen in sexy minis and short dresses for the part. And that Anahita Adjania will style her.

A source close to the project reveals Kapoor's look, "Abbas Mustan are famous for presenting their girls in the most glamorous way. Hence, in Players, Sonam will be seen in some really hot western clothes. Apart from her ensemble, she will also be accessorised and styled uniquely."

The film's first schedule starts off in November and later moves on to Russia and New Zealand. The source adds, "The film has a $30 million-dollar budget and will be shot around the world. Abbas Mustan recently went on a long recce to Russia to finalise the locations for the shoot."

Produced by TV18, Players is an official remake of the 2003 Mark Wahlberg-Charlize Theron film, The Italian Job. Abhishek Bachchan and Sonam will play lead parts. The rest of the cast is yet to be finalised.

Despite the shared title, the plot and characters of this film differ from those of its source material. Gray described the film as "an homage to the original." It was theatrically released in the US on May 30, 2003 and grossed over $176 million worldwide.
